Chanel’s new creative director started working for the brand in 1987

With Karl Lagerfeld’s recent passing, you might be wondering who will take his place at Chanel. The fashion house has announced that Virginie Viard “the brand’s fashion studio director” will succeed him.

According to Elle, Virginie has worked with Karl in 1987, when she was recommended for an internship. “The two creatives have been inseparable ever since. She followed him to Chloé in 1992, and back to Chanel in 1997.”

Needless to say, this is a good move for Chanel. Now, all we have to do so see where she takes the brand with upcoming collections and shows.
