Strangers had negative comments about Ellie Eigenmann’s short hair

Girls are judged for every little thing, including our hair. The latest victim is Andi Eigenmann’s daughter Ellie. Recently, she decided to cut her hair short into a low-maintenance pixie cut. Unsurprisingly, Andi started getting negative comments from strangers. On Instagram she shared that they, “[assumed] that it has something to do with her gender identity, or simply telling me how much of a waste it was to cut her hair [off] because ‘she was so beautiful.’” Excuse you, she still is.

Just like Andi, it saddens me that this is considered a “normal” response, and it needs to stop. “I am trying to raise a child that is comfortable in her own skin,” Andi shared. “That is confident in being true to who she is, regardless of what other may think.”

If you don’t see the problem here, let me point it out for you. Ellie is just a young girl and already people are forcing their expectations on her. They’re already starting to question her small decisions. Imagine what will happen when she’s older. It honestly doesn’t end and this is speaking from experience. The only way for that to change is for other people to open their minds, adjust their thinking, and maybe just mind their own business too.
