Stir Your Way to a Healthier Dinner

If you’re scrambling to add something to tonight’s dinner, why don’t you go back to an old favorite?  A mixed vegetable stir fry is an easy way to put together the stuff that’s in your crisper without much effort.

Apart from cooking with basic ingredients, you don’t have to linger long over the flame—overcooking them will just make your vegetables too soft, and strip them of their vitamins and minerals. Heat the vegetables just enough to enhance their crispiness and absorb the flavors of your shrimp paste and garlic.

Ingredients

1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 1/2 cup sweet potato shoot
1/2 tbsp. shrimp paste
Chicharon
3 pcs. cloves of garlic (minced)
2 tbsp. sesame oil
Onion (thinly sliced) for garnish
Talisay for garnish
Salt and pepper to taste

Procedure

1. Blanch the sweet potato shoots for five seconds. Set aside.
2. In a pan, sauté garlic, sweet potato shoot, and shrimp paste.
3. Then add crushed chicharon and sesame oil.
4. Lastly, top with talisay leaves and fried onions.
