Katy Perry Feuds with Nuns over Sacred Property

Pop star Katy Perry is feuding with another girl gang, but this time, it isn’t Taylor Swift’s.

The LA Times reports that the Forbes magazine‘s latest cover girl, who is the daughter of a pastor, was in talks with Los Angeles Archbishop Jose Gomez to buy a former convent in Loz Feliz, California for $14.5 million in cash. She first became interested in the property three years ago and is “determined to make it her home.”

Unfortunately, Sister Rita Callanan and Sister Catherine Rose, two of the last five remaining of the Immaculate Sister, have insisted that the property is theirs after they bought it at a discounted rate from a benefactor decades ago. They sold it two weeks ago for $15.5 million to restaurateur Dana Hollister, who has since moved into the property already.

Katy Perry’s star status hold no sway on the septuagenarian and octogenarian sisters, who have never heard of her. When Sister Rita looked her up on Google, her only comment was, “I wasn’t happy with any of it.”

Oof. In this scenario, it looks like Katy might’ve been better off if she had stuck to Christian music.
