Hot this “-ber” season: Pumpkin spice orange

The -ber months aren’t just a signal that the holidays are nearby. It’s also officially pumpkin spice latte season.

We don’t have autumn here in the Philippines, but when Starbucks brought their cult-favorite drink here last year, it’s like we got a piece of the season too. Plus, the climate’s becoming chilly as well thanks to the sudden rain showers and the gradual temperature drop.

That said, it seems like people are starting to look up pumpkin spice orange-hued outfits they can wear this season. Who What Wear predicted last month that we’ll see a lot of orange in the latter half of the year based on fall/winter 2019 runways. True enough, Pinterest Business cites that search stats for other orange shades like “Mandarin orange color” and “tangerine aesthetic” are up by 110 percent and 86 percent, respectively.

Local celebrities and influencers have also started to wear and accessorize with a lot of orange in the last few months. They were into the trend way before September came around.

Are you into this color palette too? Here’s a list of pieces in pumpkin spice orange to go with your favorite Starbucks drink (just in case it comes back this year).

Memo Our Favorite Tee

We all need basics in our closet, so here’s a plain orange T-shirt from Memo. You can pair this with jeans, shorts, and a skirt depending on the occasion you’re going to. Available at SM Aura Premier.

Pomelo Tie Front Strappy Crop Top

In case the sun comes out in the next few months, you can wear this sleeveless crop top from Pomelo. It’s a summer-appropriate piece, but given our tropical climate, you can rock this all year if you want to. Available online.

Mango Belt Suit Blazer

This is for the lady bosses out there who love a good power suit. This orange blazer will add color to your black-and-white corporate wardrobe. In fact, you can also pair this with the Pomelo crop top when you’re going to a Friday-night party. Available at Powerplant Mall.

H&M A-line Skirt

Who doesn’t love skirts with pockets? This one from H&M has multiple front pockets and you can easily pair this with a T-shirt and sneakers. Available at SM Makati.

Plains & Prints Beyond 25 Shantelle Dress

Made by Rajo Laurel for Plains & Prints’ Beyond 25 collection, this dress has an asymmetrical hem and a fabric sash with a gold buckle around the waist. It also has sleeves so it works as a casual brunch dress, too. Available at Glorietta 4.

Ladies’ Mini Bag One-Shoulder Cross Body Orange

If you’re going for the pumpkin spice orange trend, then you might as well get a fruit-shaped bag. It’s made from synthetic leather and has a long crossbody chain for casual and party looks. Available on Zilingo.

Preview Phine Heeled Slides

I’m recently wearing a lot of slip-on sandals with block heels to work events, and this orange pair from Preview caught my attention. It has a clear block heel and a square toe detail which makes it comfortable for walking if you’re used to it. You can also definitely wear this with slacks and dresses. Available on Zalora PH.

Sirena Wanderlust Swimwear Braided Orange Set

In the off chance you’re going to a beach destination in the next few months, cop this orange Sirena bikini set. It has a braided strap detail on the bra and bottom, giving it a unique look from the other pieces you have in your swimsuit collection. Available online.
