These hair products will make your scalp healthy

We said this before and we’ll say it again: Our scalp needs more attention, especially if you wish to have healthy hair. As “Vogue” puts it, “The scalp is an extension of the face. The scalp skin is more delicate, and it has a higher number of sebaceous glands, sweat glands and hair follicles and a lower barrier function as compared to the skin on the rest of the body. It is therefore imperative to have a scalp care regime as good as the skincare regime for our face.”

Also, not taking care of our scalp could lead to problems like dandruff or scalp eczema, which I’m sure you don’t want to have.

When we look for hair products, we often look for those that will make our mane look shinier, softer, and longer. What we don’t realize is that these products may only benefit our hair strands, not the scalp itself. Yes, a good shampoo can give your strands the care they deserve, but what about your scalp?

Here are some shampoos, scrubs, and oils you can try out:

Omorovicza Revitalising Scalp Mask

This scalp mask features a Hungarian Moor mud, cooling menthol, and salicylic acid, which can detoxify your scalp. It also has conditioning oils to keep your hair smooth. Available on Cult Beauty.

Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment

Tired of your dry scalp? This cruelty-free product is enriched with aloe vera, witch hazel, and oils that can moisturize your scalp. Its formula also helps reduce itchiness. Available on Space NK.

L’Occitane Revitalizing Fresh Scalp Tonic

If you’re looking for a product that can regulate the oil in your hair, this is for you. It’s a plant-based tonic that controls excess sebum. Available at Greenbelt 5.

Aveda Purifying Scalp Cleanser

This product provides a gentle cleanse and can exfoliate your scalp with salicylic acid. The cleanser also has a seaweed extract and tamanu oil to free your scalp from dirt. Available on Freyja PH.

Beach Hut Hair & Scalp SPF20

Looking for a product that protects your hair and scalp from chlorine, sea air, and saltwater? This shampoo could protect your mane from the UV rays and keep it moisturized during and after swimming. Available on Beauty MNL.

Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt

For dry and oily scalp, maybe using a hair scrub would be an ideal treatment? This product contains sea salt, which eliminates impurities. It also has a plant-derived paste, which provides long-lasting hydration to the scalp. Available on Nordstrom.

Uma Oil Intensely Nourishing Hair Oil

This hair oil doesn’t only strengthen hair roots, it also makes them less greasy. It has both jojoba and moringa oils that “leave no unpleasant residue and is perfect for all hair types–even hair that has been color-treated,” as stated on Sephora. Available on Sephora PH.
