Good news: More local designers are making personal protective equipment (PPE) for health workers.
Designer Mich Dulce started the volunteer group Manila Protective Gear Sewing Club to help produce PPEs to be distributed via the Office of the Vice President (OVP). Aside from a call for cash and fabric donations, Dulce also shared the protective suit design pattern used by the OVP so other designers can help out from wherever they are. If you’re willing to help out, you can join the sewing club’s Facebook group and check for updates. Dulce also made a database to keep track of design teams who are ready to accept fabric donations and other materials to create the protective gear.
Rest assured that everyone’s efforts will greatly help the frontliners who are treating COVID-19 patients, persons under investigation (PUIs) and persons under monitoring (PUMs).
