Fenty Beauty, the beauty and cosmetics brand launched by Rihanna has come out with a new set of cream-based blush and bronzers last Apr. 17. The much-anticipated collection was first announced last Mar. 5 at an event in the Fenty Beauty House of TikTok Influencers.
The Cheeks Out collection, which has 10 blush shades and seven bronzer shades, has been described by Rihanna as “one of her favorite families of franchises in the Fenty Beauty Brand.” According to her most recent Instagram post, the Cheeks Out cream formulas are non-greasy and extremely buildable, with shades that effortlessly melt into one’s skin tone—perfect for FaceTime and Zoom calls.
While this is not Fenty Beauty’s first time creating blush and bronzers—the Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick is iconic for its packaging and heavy-duty performance that can double as highlighter or blush—this new collection is the brand’s first foray into cream formulas, as their other products, like 2018’s Sun Stallk’r Instant Warmth bronzers, have been powder-based.
The new collection has just as much shade range as many of Fenty’s products and bold color choices are definitely a standout for this collection. Daiquiri Dip is a striking coral red shade perfect for bold looks on a night out. The cream blush Fuego Flush and bronzer Butta Biscuit is a solid pair for a peachy look, especially for those who love going for a sun-kissed feel. One cream blush shade to look out for is DRAMA CLA$$, a striking violet shade that puts the cool in cool tones.
Purple blush is not a common shade and there is a thin line between bold color choices and bruise-like applications when it comes to this color. However, when done right, purple can brighten sallow skin and make a face look even more vibrant. For morenas, this shade is perfect as a focal point or as part of a bold statement, as deep purple is better suited for people with darker skin tones.
