Heidi Klum takes Halloween seriously, guys.
This year, she really went all out and turned up at the party as Jessica Rabbit, complete with those unrealistically gigantic, yet somehow gravity-defying chachas. Heidi explains her choice, “She is definitely an icon, and I always try to find someone people would recognize.” While conventional costume players would just grab a red wig and gown and call it a night, Heidi put a lot more love—and prosthetics—into her costume last weekend.
Heidi had a unique glam team to back her up. She got experts Mike Marino and Mike Fontaine of Prosthetic Renaissance, and designer Christian Siriano to help her with her dress.
The model and businesswoman confessed that she planned it all eight months ago. Even then, she and her team took more than half a day to complete the look. “I started at noon. And I literally just put on my shoes and got over here [at the Lavo party in New York City] and it was about 10:30 p.m.”
When asked what the most difficult part about putting it altogether, Heidi had a ready answer: “Holding still, especially when you have to stand up. When they did the face, I could sit, but when the body was being glued on, I had to stand by for many hours. And that was kind of hard.”
Heidi is aware of how equally difficult it is to remove all the prosthetics. However, she admitted liking her body for the night. “[My fake curves] were very heavy in the beginning, but I got used to it. Now I kind of like it,” she tells. “This booty does it all by itself. It’s a lot of fun, of course. I like it. It’s kind of funny with the mouth, though. I can kind of see my lips a little bit. It’s weird.”
That’s not all, folks. To completely nail the persona, Heidi practiced her character’s breathy ballad “Why Don’t You Do Right” and performed that night as well. That’s dedication.
