The Gibbs Sisters Show You How to Keep Your Cool at This Summer Music Fest

If you’ve ever wondered what a relatively chill music festival looks like, the Wanderland Music Festival is a good example.

Yesterday, everyone looked so relaxed while laying on their mats, and even braving the afternoon heat just to get a good view of the performances and also to secure a spot to jump around if needed. The international acts definitely brought their A-game to give everyone a show. You want to dance? There’s San Cisco and The Naked and Famous. You want your feels to be murdered? Bon Iver and Death Cab For Cutie did just that. And of course, local acts such as Jensen and the Flips, Cheats, Curtismith, Oh, Flamingo!, and Jess Connelly + CRWN also did not disappoint.

There were also several booths at the venue so people wouldn’t get bored while waiting like the interactive Galaxy Tent courtesy of the festival’s presenter, Globe Telecom, which had activities like Zero Gravity where attendees could jump on trampolines and get their photos taken mid-air; Movie Planetarium which quizzed them on their movie knowledge, and many others.

But out of everything that went on during the festival, the everybody’s outifits were also a sight to see. While the flower crown hype still hasn’t died out, we still saw some fashionable and summery outfits from attendees to go with the overall chill vibe of the festival. Here are some notable looks we spotted yesterday courtesy of these ladies:

Chi Gibbs

Chi wears a vibrant polo and pants ensemble from Neon Island, tube top from Vero Moda, sandals from Forever 21, choker from H&M, and a vintage necklace

Who’s your favorite artist in the lineup and what’s your favorite song from them?
I love Death Cab For Cutie because [it reminds me of my] college days and The O.C. Of course, Bon Iver too, but I’m more of a Death Cab girl and I’m a big fan of The O.C. so I’m excited to relive that.

What’s a must-have for you to survive the heat at the festival?
I think, for here in Manila, you should bring a pamaypay or the battery-operated fans, and tissue for when your makeup gets all blotchy. [Also,] comfortable sandals and versatile clothes. Like, with mine, you can just take the polo off when it’s too hot, and put it back on when it’s cold. I think it’s important to be comfortable and make up for [it by choosing the right] accessories [and] it’s the perfect time to accessorize with cool shades, chokers, and braids.

Akiko Abad

Akiko wears an off-shoulder top from Carisse by Carmen Araneta, skirt from H&M, and shoes from Converse

Who’s your favorite artist in the lineup and what’s your favorite song from them?
Bon Iver. I don’t know much of the title of their songs, but I listened to them a lot before. Actually, before going here, I made a Spotify playlist and just listened to it the whole time so that I could sing along.

What’s one thing you haven’t done at a music festival that you’d want to do at Wanderland if given the chance?
Probably going up the stage or go backstage to meet the front acts.

Gabs Gibbs

Chi wears a black dress and skinny scarf from Topshop, tube top from Bershka, and sandals from Cotton On

Who’s your favorite artist in the lineup and what’s your favorite song from them?
San Cisco and of course, Death Cab For Cutie.

What’s one thing you haven’t done at a music festival that you’d want to do in Wanderland if given the chance?
I always wanted to try the bouncy ball thing because they always have that every year. But I don’t think I’ll try it today because I have makeup on. (Laughs)

An Estrada

An wears a top from Reformation, long skirt from SIR the label, and sandals from APC

Who’s your favorite artist in the lineup and what’s your favorite song from them?
Bon Iver. I love a lot of their songs, but my most favorite is “Re: Stacks.”

What’s a must-have for you to survive the heat at the festival?
I love the sun, but if needed, I’d reach for facial sunblock and also make sure I put conditioner in my hair.

En Estrada

En wears a sweater, socks, and shoes from Adidas

What’s one thing you haven’t done at a music festival that you’d want to do in Wanderland if given the chance?
Stage dive.

If you randomly bumped into your favorite artist at the festival, what would you do and what would your first reaction be?
Oh my God, I think I will cry [if I meet Bon Iver.] That’s it. I’ll just cry.
