Powerhouse Milanese Designer Label Says No to Fur

In our tropical climate, fur may not be the primary material of choice but it still remains one of the most controversial and sought out commodities in the fashion industry. That’s why when a legendary designer such as Giorgio Armani takes a stand against it, brands and people should listen.

Giorgio recently released an official statement declaring that “the Armani Group has made a firm commitment to abolish the use of animal fur in its collections.” The announcement has been met with support from the Humane Society International and adds another significant fashion label who has gone anti-fur which include Hugo Boss, Clavin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ralph Lauren.

Hopefully, Giorgio’s message to pay attention “to the critical issues of protecting and caring for the environment and animals” is heard by more luxury labels. Despite repeated crusades against animal cruelty, fur remains to be a $40-billion industry across the globe.
