Warm up your chilly nights with these 6 soups

The warm days are slowly leaving, and we’re already welcoming some chilly nights which gives us the perfect opportunity to enjoy a warm, hearty bowl of soup for dinner.

To help narrow down your choices, we’ve listed six restaurants where you can get your soup fix in the metro. Just make sure you don’t burn your tongue while you’re at it.

Melt Grilled Cheesery

Nothing like a classic grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup combo to keep your tummy warm. Melt serves up a tomato soup (P185) topped with small grilled cheese croutons. For those who’d like a whole sandwich, they also have a classic melt paired with a sweet tomato puree (P265).

Melt Grilled Cheesery. 3/F Uptown Place Mall, 36th Street corner 9th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. (0917) 892-4377. Open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, visit their Facebook page.

The Wholesome Table

One thing I’m happy about The Wholesome Table is that they have a generous serving of soup. Their carrot-pumpkin soup (P180) is sweet and topped with goji berries, and also has a mild spicy aftertaste.

The Wholesome Table. UG/F Bonifacio High Street Central, 30th Street corner 7th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. (02) 867-0000. Open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information and list of branches, visit their website and Facebook page.

Le Petit Soufflé

If you’re into cheese on your soup, Le Petit Soufflé serves a classic French onion soup (P220) which has melted Gruyere and Ementhal. The best way to eat this is to dip your slice of rye bread to the soup and get as much cheese as you can.

Le Petit Soufflé. 3/F Century City Mall, Kalayaan Avenue, Makati City. (02) 886-3056. Open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, visit their Facebook page.

Mendokoro Ramenba

No soup list is complete without a bowl of ramen in the mix. Mendokoro Ramenba’s tantanmen (P440) is every spicy lovers’ choice with this hot and filling bowl.

Mendokoro Ramenba. V Corporate Center, Soliman Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City. (02) 478-9625. Open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. For more information, visit their Facebook page.

Just like ramen, pho is also a go-to noodle soup. At P.H.A.T Pho, you can have their Pho Special (P230 & P395) which has meatballs, braised beef, and shaved US Angus beef.

P.H.A.T Pho. G/F Serendra, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. (02) 843-0820. Open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. For more information, visit their Facebook page.
