CoverGirl just introduced their first male ambassador: Instagram star James Charles.
But wait, who exactly is James and how did he become famous social media famous?
James is a 17-year-old high school student who regularly posts makeup looks on Instagram, as well as tutorials on YouTube. He gained significant attention when he posted about retaking his senior photo by taking his ring light to the studio to make his highlighter pop. The photo went viral, with people tagging it as #HighlighterGoals, and it was approved by Zendaya, too.
Now, with over 450,000 Instagram followers (and counting), James has been chosen as the first CoverBoy. Current CoverGirl spokesmodel Katy Perry also welcomed him to the family.
James’ first job will be to promote CoverGirl’s new So Lashy mascara. He also announced on Instagram earlier that he’s been working on commercials and ads the whole day. So I guess we’ll be seeing a lot of James in the future.
Meanwhile, is it too late for him to change his yearbook quote to “Easy, breezy, beautiful”?
