Scarlett Johansson is branching out into the food biz and opening a gourmet popcorn shop in Paris.
Yummy Pop is a joint venture with her husband, French advertising executive Romain Dauriac. The shop will be serving unique popcorn flavors like truffle, sage, parmesan, strawberries and cream, chocolate, and other savory-sweet varieties.
“It has been a dream of mine and my family for several years to bring our favorite American snack to our favorite European city!”Scarlett says in a statement. “I am so excited to introduce Yummy Pop, a labor of love and Epicurean enthusiasm. My hope is for Yummy Pop to become a Parisian snacking staple and a symbol of friendship between my two most beloved cities, Paris and New York.”
Scarlett’s spokesman adds that the popcorn will be made fresh in the shop and mixed with seasonal ingredients. They also worked with Ducks Eater chef Will Horowitz in creating the menu.
The shop will have its soft opening in the Marais district in Paris on Saturday. The couple says they’ll expand the shop once their flavors like the “Real Vermont Cheddar” becomes a hit in Paris.
