A French Journo Sexually Assaulted a Woman on Live TV and Laughed About It

Here’s another man who doesn’t know the meaning of “no”: French journalist Jean-Michel Maire sexually assaulted a woman on live television by kissing her breast without her consent.

This happened during 35 House of Baba‘s reenactment of Kim Kardashian’s robbery in Paris where Jean-Michel played a man who had to save Kim, who was portrayed by 21-year-old model Soraya. The journalist then tried to kiss Soraya but she declined because they were live. However, Jean-Michel still insisted that she said yes and that they “can do it backstage.” He then proceeded to kiss Soraya’s right breast without her permission.

Soraya opened up about the incident to L’Express, saying, “I’m a human being, not just an object.”

BBC reports that over 250 angry viewers complained about Jean-Michel’s actions. Many of them also called for him to get prosecuted. Meanwhile, according to Marianne, Jean-Michel reportedly laughed about the episode backstage and later tweeted a not-so serious apology. Cyril Hanouna, the show’s host, also said that the kiss wasn’t “that serious.”

It’s one thing that Jean-Michel doesn’t know that “no” means “no,” but to shrug it off like it’s nothing is truly sad. Plus, I don’t think it was right to reenact Kim’s traumatic experience for the sake of comedy.
