It’s easy to get stuck with just one shoe trend. I still have not given up on slides at this point even though that is something we carried from the fall/winter trend of 2016. The thing about it is how comfort is always key, dare we admit it or not, no matter how cute a pair may be. Who here has passed up a trendy heel for their ever-reliable black loafers? Yes, we see you.
The good news is how Vogue spotted the comeback of the kitten heels on the spring/summer ’17 runways. From Dior with their twist on the black shoe to Gucci with their loafer-kitten heel hybrid. For a safer choice, you can go for the ones from Chanel and Celine, while the more adventurous type can go for the ones from Loewe.
Celebrities and influencers jumped early on the trend. Aimee Song donned a pair while in Miami, Mari Jasmine chose it as an alternative casual pick, while Jenni Epperson wore a shiny gold pair over the holidays. Don’t be surprised if this picks up as the season continues. I guess the kitten heel is a more feminine look to the block heel and dresses up any outfit without the stress of a platform or stilettos.
