The Selfie Camera Has Finally Been Invented

Fujifilm's Maeda Takuya, Sasaki Takashi, Tim Yap, Tessa-Prieto Valdes, Victor Basa, So Keitaro, and Nelson Perez

Last Friday, Fujifilm launched the first selfie camera at 71 Gramercy, where we were, according to Tim Yap, “at the top of Makati, the selfie capital of the world.” The word “selfie” was thrown around several more times than we were able to count, not least because of the night’s contest, which required everyone to post photos of their own faces on Instagram for a chance to win the Fujifilm X-A2.

I did it. Victor Basa did it. Phoemela Barranda did it.Ruffa Gutierrez did it. Hideo Muroaka did it with his baby mama Fatima Rabago, along with model Mari Henud. Camie Juan and all her blogger friends did it.

But in the end, style blogger Melissa Gatchalian had the selfie that outplayed us all, and took home the one thing everybody wanted that night: A camera that takes incredibly flattering photos of yourself. #nofilter
