Get Moving With These Phone Games That Track Your Health

Nowadays, there’s an app for almost everything. You can shop online using an app and even find fitness trackers. There are a lot of fitness apps that you can download, from yoga tutorials to boxing timers. However, if you’re looking for a more entertaining way to track your steps or calories burned, there are games that you can download. These games connect to the pedometers on your phone or Fitbits. You can then use the steps you’ve taken in the game to unlock worlds or convert them to energy.

If these sounds like something you want to try out, check the list below and try some of them this weekend.

Pocket Plants

I downloaded this game two months ago based on the cute icon I saw on the App Store. The game itself is fairly simple: You unlock plants in different worlds to battle pollution. You can combine plants to create rare ones and sell them to earn energy, amethyst, and rubies. What I love about this game is that you have the option to connect it to your pedometer or Apple Watch. You can then convert your steps to amethyst, rubies, and energy as well.

Walkr-Galaxy Adventure in Your Pocket

Explore the cosmos with Walkr, a game that uses your “walking energy” to fuel your spaceship so you can discover new worlds. You can also team up with friends to help space creatures find their way home. Walkr also keeps track of the amount of calories you burn and even recommends daily goals.

Wokamon-Monster Walk Quest

If Tamagochi was your favorite virtual pet growing up, this might just be the game for you. In the game, you use your steps to feed, grow, and collect Wokamons. The more steps you take and energy you produce, the more you get to explore the different worlds like the icy realm and the mystical forest. You can connect the game to Apple Health or your Fitbit.

Standland

Sitting for long stretches of time is not good for your health. Whether it’s at your office desk or sofa at home, this game encourages you to stand up more. If you stand, so do the creatures, if you remain seated, they fall asleep. Track your improvements daily and unlock new creatures.
