French Travel Brand Launches First Stand-Alone Boutique in Manila

The perfect travel companion: Longchamp's Le Pliage cuir crossbody bag

While our French may not exactly be impressive (Dexter’s omelette du fromage of childhood past still rings clearly in our heads), we’re quite sure “Oui” is the appropriate response when someone utters Le Pliage or Planetes.

At least, longtime Longchamp collaborator Kate Moss and not to mention the 20 million or so folk who have bought the bag since its introduction would agree.

To celebrate the country’s first stand-alone Longchamp boutique in Greenbelt 5, media, personalities, and media personalities gathered at the store Tuesday evening together with Longchamp General Manager for Asia and Pacific François-Xavier Severin, Rustan’s first family Bienvenido Tantoco, Sr., Bienvenido Tantoco, Jr., and Anton Huang.

The jet-set ladies Martine Cajucom, Nicole Andersson, and Tricia Gosingtian were spotted running about with their new, as Martine puts it “travel beater bag”—referring to her new Le Pliage Cuir, a metisse leather number from the cult arm candy Le Pliage line. For those currently obsessed with branding their own accessories (our personal rule also applies to getting a tattoo—if you have to use a name, at least make sure it’s not your soon-to-be ex’s), the boutique offers Le Pliage personalization that will take about a month as the branding is done exclusively in France.
