From Capes to Bows: The Celebrity Wedding Gowns We Love

With the number of celebrity weddings that took place last year, we saw a lot of great moments and beautiful gowns. So much so that we thought we’d pick out some of favorites and highlight the details we loved the most. Read through our list and let us know which ones were your favorite too.

Most modern rendition: Maxene Magalona

Maxene Magalona wore a Vera Wang gown to their outdoor ceremony in Boracay but she had on something different at the intimate church wedding. In front of their immediate families and principal sponsors, Maxene looked stunning in a creation by Mark Bumgarner. It had a short hemline and bow detail on the shoulder. Very modern.

Best lace number: Anne Curtis

For her wedding gown, Anne Curtis decided to go all out on the lace. Monique Lhuillier shared on Instagram that Anne decided on a lace ball gown with sheer long sleeves and a “matching hand appliqué lace veil.

The dramatic train: Vicki Belo

Vicki Belo had a few outfit changes during her wedding but the dress she wore to the ceremony was a blush pink number from Michael Cinco. And it definitely had the most dramatic train. It was three meters long, made of French lace, and “fully embroidered baroque pattern with transparent and rose opal Swarovski crystals.” And we’re living for the way it photographs.

Superhero moment: Serena Williams

Serena Williams proved that brides can wear capes too and she looked phenomenal. Who else is considering wearing a cape to their future wedding?

Elegant neckline: Max Collins

Max Collins made the neckline one of the focal points of the dress by having it intricately embellished with beadwork and embroidery. This matched the theme of the entire dress made by Francis Libiran.

For giving a hint of 1940’s style: Vania Romoff

Vania Romoff’s wedding gown hit us with a bit of 1940’s style. The billowy sleeves and overall silhouette is definitely something we’d wear today too.

Shortest veil: Song Hye Kyo

Descendants of the Sun star Song Hye Kyo wore a long sleeve gown with a square neckline that had ruffle details. But what made her look stand out was the short veil. A different take on the longer veils we usually see.
