Are Claw Clips Back to Hold Our Updo?

The resurgence of throwback  hair accessories doesn’t end with barrettes and scrunchies. During New York Fashion Week, Alexander Wang threw a curve-ball at everyone with models wearing claw clips.

You may remember using these clips in various sizes when you were younger. You could make a bun or a ponytail with a bigger claw clip, while braids can be held up with small ones. But the question is why they were used in Alexander Wang’s show?

Hairstylist Guido Palau told Vogue that it was a take on “’80s executive” style. “It’s a cool way to put your hair up and not feel too lady,” he said. Vogue also revealed that the gleaming silver claw clips were made in-house, but there are no news yet if Alexander Wang will be selling them.

Since then, people are celebrating the fact that their old clips are now runway-worthy. Some are also surprised that this is even happening but in fact, claw clips were predicted as a 2018 hair trend. Cosmopolitan reported that Urban Outfitters even came out with novelty claw clips that look like cats.

Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton was also spotted wearing tiny claw clips to hold her braids.

Several Instagram girls have also flaunted their plastic clips to create a laid-back hairstyle.

What’s great about this trend is that you can either find your old claw clip at home. But if you can’t find them anymore, here are a few you can cop in various sizes and designs.
