There’s Another Uniqlo Collab on the Way and It’s With Tomas Maier

If you’re already thinking of how to spruce up your fashion looks for the summer, then you need not worry. Uniqlo just announced their newest collaboration and it’s with German designer Tomas Maier, who is also the creative director of luxury brand Bottega Veneta.

Tomas shared with Business of Fashion that his collection will consist of womenswear, menswear, and accessories, and is set to be launched, as mentioned, this summer. “Uniqlo has always offered their customers affordability and a designer point of view—this is just about a moment in time of getting together.”

It looks like a promising match because even if Tomas is not a minimalist, he still enjoys it. And he’s also a creative director known to work on trendy campaigns, but at the same time keeps a classy aesthetic.

Based on his own collections, we can expect a lot of natural materials to be used with his Uniqlo collab (which very much works for our country!) like fine cotton, linen, and raffia.

As Tomas was creating the collection, he admitted to adapting a new process of working as he needed to be more thoughtful of the materials to use in order to keep the prices in check. But given the excitement we have, I think we’re willing to set aside enough moolah to splurge.

No word yet from Uniqlo Philippines if this will be available locally, but knowing the brand, they always deliver.
