As we mentioned before, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose lemon elderflower cake covered in buttercream icing and decorated with fresh flowers. In a short clip, you’ll see Claire Ptak of Violet Cakes smoothing out the icing on a cake.

The Kensington Palace also shared the ingredient list for the cake. This included hundreds of Amalfi lemons and organic eggs, and 10 bottles of Sandringham Elderflower Cordial. How big is this going to be?!

Just looking at one tier of the cake is making us hungry, and also even more excited for tomorrow’s festivities. How about you?

With just a few months away before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding, more details are being revealed. Little by little we’re starting to piece together what the ceremony is going to be like. On Twitter, Kensington Palace confirmed that the couple picked Claire Ptak of Violet Cakes to create their wedding cake.

They went on to explain that “Claire Ptak, who was raised in California, focuses on using seasonal and organic ingredients in her cakes. Ms. Markle previously interviewed chef Ptak for her former lifestyle website The Tig.” They also shared that the cake will be a lemon elderflower flavor and will be decorated with fresh flowers.

Looking at Violet Cake’s Instagram feed, you will see that Claire decorates cakes with a more rustic finish. Frosting isn’t smoothed out to perfection but it adds character to the creation along with fresh flowers and fruits she uses as decoration.
