A Cool Freebie We’d Actually Shell Out Money For

Linda Farrow curated a fun set of items that you can take with you to your next summer destination.

Everybody loves a good freebie. Who knows how many retailers have gotten that much richer just because they threw in a flimsy tote bag whenever you made a minimum purchase? And it’s not just a Filipino thing. Everybody loves freebies—even rich people do. Anyone who tells you that they don’t is a liar that you shouldn’t bother associating with because liars are the worst!

Linda Farrow marketing director Tracy Sedino sure knows a thing or two about the allure of the phrase “gift with purchase,” so for summer (or what’s left of it!), she came up with the idea of putting together a bag of “summer essentials” for her customers.

“Actually, it was this time last year I was traveling around Asia and I decided that I wanted to do [this] concept because Linda Farrow is such a high-end luxury brand and I wanted to do something that was fun and accessible,” she tells Preen at the launch of the Linda Farrow Summer Essentials where celebrities like Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati, along with bloggers Kim Jones and Tricia Centenera-Valenciano were in attendance.

However, unlike your usual tote bags, Tracy had the brilliant idea of creating a set of items that you would actually take with you to the beach. “I decided to create other products that you would buy when you’re on holiday, and we decided to do the summer essentials bag! Literally, when I was holiday, I thought, ‘What do I want? What do have, and what am I missing? What would be fun?’”

Done up in fun pastel colors, like candy cotton pink, mint green, sky blue, and light gray, the Linda Farrow Summer Essentials bag includes a beach tote, beach ball, ping pong set, playing cards, hand mirror, flip-flops, water bottle, a notebook, notepad, pen, hand fan, and an iPhone case!

But that’s not the fun part—one in ten bags will contain a pair of Linda Farrow Luxe sunglasses! For a freebie, that isn’t shabby at all.
