Stuck on gift ideas for dad? Take him on a food trip instead

I’m someone who finds it difficult to buy a gift for my dad—whether it’s for his birthday, Christmas, or Father’s Day. Do I buy him another shirt or book? Something for his many gadgets? There are so many possibilities that even gift guides leave me overwhelmed.

There’s always one more option to take: treat him to a delicious meal. If you also think this is a plausible solution for you, then you’ve come to the right place. We’ve listed some restaurants where you can have a dad-and-me date any time, especially this coming Father’s Day weekend. Check them out below!

Raging Bull Chophouse & Bar

Raging Bull is known for its juicy steaks and burgers. You can chow down on the usual tenderloin and ribeye. Or, if you and your dad want to try something special, they have wagyu steaks and black angus prime rib. Another must-try is their wagyu burger which is served with charred capsicum, aged cheddar, and caramelized onion. Located at 3/L West Wing, Shangri-La at the Fort, 30th Street corner 5th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. Open from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Every Sunday, Nobu has a Sunday brunch buffet featuring live cooking and carving stations, sushi and sashimi, a salad bar, a dessert table, and more. Aside from your dad, you can also bring your other family members to celebrate any special occasion. Located at City of Dreams Manila, Aseana Boulevard corner Macapagal Avenue, Parañaque City. Available from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Carpaccio Ristorante Italiano

If your dad loves Italian food, then take him and the whole family to Carpaccio Ristorante Italiano. They have a wide range of authentic Italian pizza and pasta, and you can pair your meals with white or red wine. (They’re also offering free wine to all dads from June 16 to 17!) Located at 7431 Yakal Street, San Antonio Village, Makati City. Open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Skinny Mike’s Restaurant & Sports Bar

We know a lot of our dads tuned in to the recent NBA Finals and cheered for their favorite teams. And that might not be the only sport that our dads are into. To cater to their love for sports, you can have wings and beer at Skinny Mike’s. They often show live games on their TV screens so you can also bring other family members who are equally invested in sports. Oh, and they also have a promo of P15 per wing every Tuesday. Located at 2/F F&B Building, MC Home Depot, 32nd Street corner Justicia Drive, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. Open from 12 m.n. to 2 p.m., 4 p.m. to 12 m.n.

TWG Tea Salon & Boutique

You can also treat your dad to a fancy afternoon tea and lunch at TWG. Choose from their existing sets or avail of their Father’s Day menu, which includes a Braised Beef Burger, Chocolate Velvet Cake, and a pot of Napoleon Tea. If you want to make it extra special, you can arrange a date for your dad and mom in the future, too. Located at 2/L, Shangri-La Plaza East Wing, EDSA corner Shaw Boulevard, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City. Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Tacoman by Silantro

Indulge on soft tacos with your dad at Tacoman. You can share a whole plate of cheesy nachos for starters then dive into your choice of carnitas, chicken, beef and lengua, and beef asada tacos. You’re sure to come out with a full tummy after! Located at Top of the Glo, 4/F Glorietta 1, Ayala Center, Makati City. Open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
