Erich Gonzales’ training regimen for her new action film was intense AF

Erich Gonzales has been kinda under the radar the past few months and we found out why last night. She’s starring in the film We Will Not Die Tonight and it’s going to have it’s world premiere at the New York Asian Film Festival. Wow!

Directed by Richard V. Somes, the film revolves around Kray, a fierce woman who has to survive the terrors of the night. You can tell by her photos—disheveled hair with dirt and blood smeared on her face while wielding an axe—that she means serious business. The teaser trailer also gives you a look as to how the fight scenes will go.

According to We Will Not Die Tonight’s official Instagram account, Erich did Muay Thai to train for the role. She was also trained by pro stuntmen which involves using dangerous items like barbed wires, sharp objects, and rusty metals “in preparation for doing her own stunts.” Respect!

The film will premiere on June 29 at the New York Asian Film Festival. Other Filipino films that will be shown there are Sid & Aya (Not a Love Story), On the Job, and Buy Bust, which is also making its world premiere.

While we wait for Erich’s film to show in cinemas here, we want to see more clips of her training and fighting bad guys. It might just inspire us to take a self-defense class and get stronger.
