Preen Picks: Products that turn my brows from sparse to bushy

In my life, I’m not always open to change, no matter how inevitable it is. Sometimes it’s for the better but I’m hesitant to change my routine. Same goes for the different products I use. Once I’m comfortable with what I have, I stick to it. However, there comes a time where what I use just stops working and I have to look for something new. This is most especially true for my current eyebrow routine. For the longest time, I would just use one product but a few months ago I started to test out new ones until I found my top four go-to’s that work best for me. I’m pretty obsessed with doing my brows lately so I wanted to share the process in case you’re looking for new picks too.

Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Eyebrow Pencil

Eyebrow pencils used to be my go-to but I stopped using them for a few years because I fell in love with eyebrow tattoo products. However, I recently came across one of Benefit’s pencils and it instantly became a favorite. It has a fine tip so you can easily draw on natural looking strokes. It is also budge-proof so it doesn’t smudge off easily, which is my problem with most eyebrow pencils. I start my routine by brushing the hairs with the built-in spoolie and start shaping and filling in my brows. Available at Glorietta 4.

Shawill Cosmetics Brow Set 3

After filling in my sparse brows, I go in with a mascara. This has three products in it but i mainly use the mascara. Because my brows are thin, I apply the product in the front and brush them up to make them look fuller. I also apply a little bit on the tail to define it more. Available on BeautyMNL.

Max Factor Brown Contouring Kit

Once everything is set, I try to clean up the edges a little bit with a powder. I use the highlighting shade from the brow contouring kit. I apply the product mainly on the tail end to make it look more defined. This also acts a base for my highlight later on. Available at Watsons branches.

Real Techniques Shading Brush

When applying the powder around my brows, I like to use a small flat brush. I pick up a small amount of product on the tip of the brush and add where it’s needed. I also try to blend it out so there aren’t any harsh lines. Available on Sephora PH.

MAC Strobe Cream

The last step is to add some highlight on the brow bone. Just like highlighting my face, I always start off with a cream product and my go-to is MAC’s strobe cream. I apply just a small dot and blend it out with my fingers. This also acts as a base for whatever powder highlight I’ll be using that day. Available at Power Plant Mall.
