Time to munch on chips that are actually good for you

I love snacks and I get snacky quite often throughout the day. My first instinct is to reach for a bag of chips or pop some popcorn. As delicious and satisfying as these options are, they’re not exactly the healthiest choice. So, let’s change up our perspective of snacking and make it something that can actually be good for you. If you search the shelves at the supermarket, you will actually find better alternatives that are both sweet and savory. Don’t believe me? Here are some healthy chips you can munch on later today.

Oh So Healthy! Fruit Crisps

Chips can be made of fruits too just like these. Oh So Healthy! makes a few variants but this is one of my favorites because it has coconut. These also have purple yam puree, banana puree, and organic coconut sugar. And, don’t worry, these crisps weren’t made with frying. Available at Rustan’s Supermarket branches.

Take Root Sour Kream & Chive Kale Chips

On its own, kale isn’t that tasty so some added flavor really helps. These are dried at a low temperature, which gives it that crispy texture. It is gluten-free, vegan and has zero percent trans fat so enjoy a bag of this guilt-free. Available at SM Supermarket branches.

Snack Box Roasted Cacao Nibs with Chia and Flaxseeds

If you’re a sweet tooth, you’ll enjoy these dessert chips. Imagine a brownie but in crunchy bark form, and healthier too. Instead of the usual suspects, these are made with roasted cacao nibs, chia seeds, flaxseeds, and unsweetened chocolate. Get a box to share or portion it throughout the week. Available at SM Megamall.

Vegetari Healthy Bites Chichashroom

Get the flavors of chicharon without all the guilt. These have the same crunchy bite but is made of a healthy mushroom base. You might be thinking that this won’t taste too good, but trust me, they do. Keep these at your office desk and whip them out when you’re feeling snacky. Available at G Stuff, Power Plant Mall.

Founding Farmers Mixed Garlic Veggie Crisps

Vegetables should be part of our daily diet but not everyone is a fan. Grab a bag of these to help you out. Enjoy vegetables in chip form like green sword beans, carrots, okra, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin. For added flavor, these are mixed in with some garlic. Available at Landers Superstore.

Radical Organics Organic Toasted Coconut Chips

Coconut fans rejoice and stock up on these chips. Each pack contains 100 percent organic coconut chips that are lightly toasted and topped with coconut sugar and sea salt. Eat this on its own or sprinkle it over other snacks like smoothie bowls. Available at Rustan’s Supermarket branches.
