I’ve lived in a tropical country all my life, but I still constantly struggle to dress appropriately—you must understand that my closet is 75 percent in black or gray. I play around with my looks once in a while and try break the mold, and I believe I’ve found my style peg for the next time I do it.
Insert Robert Sheehan from the upcoming Netflix show The Umbrella Academy, based on a graphic novel by Gerard Way (former vocalist of My Chemical Romance). He made an appearance along with co-star David Castañeda during the 2019 slate reveal in Singapore earlier today.
He appeared onstage wearing a pale yellow mesh tank top layered over a tulle white shirt from Sharon Wauchob, he cuffed his sleeves for good measure, and paired it with loose-fitting khakis from the same brand. He finished off his look with layers of necklaces, bracelets, and mandals (that’s “man sandals” for the rest of us) from Ancient Greek Sandals.
The color palette and the fabrics he chose for his look was on-point given the humid and hot weather. So much so, that the Singaporean host even complemented him.
The next time you venture out in the open or even travel to a tropical country, take cues from no other than Robert. Feel free to check his other looks as it’s pretty obvious he enjoys playing with fashion.
