As we’ve already seen on social media, this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has already wrapped up taping. We still have to wait until Dec. 2 to watch the whole thing but we already know a few things from it like what Kelsey Merritt wore on the runway, Adriana Lima hanging up her wings after 20 years in the biz, and that Elsa Hosk got the privilege to wear the stunning Fantasy Bra.
Before the show even started shooting, Elsa gave a sneak peek of her wearing the $1-million bra and how she’ll do her makeup via Vogue. Her look was just natural and glowy because she wanted to match with the Swarovski-encrusted lingerie.
Imagine being so #extra wearing a Fantasy Bra and doing your makeup in a way that it’ll pop on the runway. Which is why we gathered some of Elsa’s makeup tips that’ll work for anyone who either wants pouty-looking lips or overall shimmery skin.
Another way to look awake
The first thing that Elsa did is to put eyedrops to get rid of the redness, which she said happens every day because of her two cats. Also, this is her way of making her eyes sparkle to go with the bra. Another trick she did is to use an eyelash curler to open up her peepers. “You know, as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, you need really long lashes,” Elsa said, and she didn’t even put on falsies.
Use two different concealer shades
If you want a quick and easy way to brighten up your face and contour before the powder and highlighter, Elsa suggested using two concealer shades. What you do is dot the lighter shade under your eyes, on your chin, and around your nose. For the darker shade, swipe it on the outer portion like the cheekbone and forehead area. You can use Maybelline’s Fit Me Concealers for this one—just choose the two shades that’ll look best for your skin tone. Available at Watsons.
Don’t scrimp on the highlight
“You just want your skin to blend in with the bra,” Elsa said while swiping a stick highlight all over her body. She started on her cheekbones, under the brow bone, the Cupid’s bow, and then her collarbones and shoulders. Make Up Factory’s Art of Glow Stick in Golden Touch will give you that subtle to intense shimmer. Remember to be generous with the application! Available at Bonifacio High Street.
Contour under the lip
This is a trick that we’d like to do from now on. What Elsa did was put contour powder on her big fluffy brush then she pinched near the ends so she can apply product under her lower lip. “This will give you a pout.” She wasn’t lying, guys. It’s even more noticeable with the nude lipstick she used later on.
More shimmer—this time, on the eyes
Elsa only had one piece of advice for applying shimmer all over your lids and the inner corner: “Just go apesh*t.” No truer words were spoken. We suggest you use one of Alima Pure’s luminous eyeshadows, which come in six shades. Also, if you want to add a bit of depth, use a brown shade on your crease and blend so the eyeshadow looks seamless. Available on Sephora PH.
Saving yourself from eyeliner disaster
“The good thing about eyeliner is if you mess up, you just add more,” Elsa said as she tried to fix her eyeliner. She added that eye look sometimes depends on how thick or thin her liner gets as she goes. This trick might not work for everyone, but it’s still a good hack to remember.
