The “little red dress” is the holiday equivalent to LBDs

The classic little black dress is a versatile choice for women since icons like Coco Chanel and Audrey Hepburn put it on everyone’s radars. The styles and lengths may have changed through the years, but the sleekness of an LBD is timeless.

For the holiday season, though, another dress is dominating: the little red dress. Just look at Julia Barretto posing in a piece with a plunging neckline last month. Kathryn Bernardo was also spotted in a red straight-cut dress during the premiere of Three Words to Forever.

Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle was also spotted in a red Club Monaco mini dress for her Hubb Community Kitchen visit. She paired it with a burgundy coat and black tights. Very office chic.

Perhaps you have the festive season to blame for the sudden appearance of LRDs (yup, we’re calling them LRDs). What’s also great is that you get to choose from various shades of red for different occasions. If you want a change-up from your usual dress options, here are some picks for ya.

Ashley Collection Adele Tie Front Strappy Dress

You can’t go wrong with a slip dress that you can pair with a cover-up, sandals, heels, or even white sneakers. This one was an A-line cut and a tie detail on the chest area. Wear this to your intimate Christmas get-together with friends so you’ll feel comfortable while socializing all night. Available on Zalora PH.

Plains and Prints Cinnabar Dress

If your company is organizing a posh Christmas dinner, go for an elegant off-shoulder dress. This one from Plains and Prints has a pleated skirt with a touch of white. Complete the look with a gold necklace of your choice, and you’re ready to celebrate with your colleagues. Available at Glorietta 1.

CLN Merlin Dress

For a less flouncier dress, you can wear this rust red lace piece from CLN. It’s sleeveless, has a zip closure, and a belt detail to highlight the natural curves of the waist. Available at TriNoma Mall.

The___Edit Paloma Polka Dot Ruffled Dress

This polka-dotted dress can be worn during Christmas or New Year parties. I mean, it’s always a requirement to wear this print according to Filipino tradition. This one is a wrap dress with a ruffled detail along the V-neckline. We suggest you pair this with low chunky heels for maximum comfort. Available at Zalora Pop-Up Store, Greenbelt 5.

Rixo + Laura Jackson Sequined Crepe Mini Dress

Take festive dressing to another level by wearing a sparkly piece. It is the season of glitter after all, so go for this long-sleeved sequined mini dress. You’re sure to stand out in any party you attend. Available on Net-a-Porter.
