Office-appropriate clothing for Chinese New Year

If you’re done collecting the Lunar New Year-exclusive beauty products for 2019, then it’s high time to start shopping for your next outfit too. Many of us have work on Feb. 5 so it’s only right to find items that you can wear in the office.

We found pieces from limited-edition collections. Some of them aren’t available in the country yet but we’re keeping our eyes peeled in case you want to cop them. Now, go shop before they run out.

H&M Oversized Sweatshirt

This cotton sweatshirt is part of H&M’s Chinese New Year collection for 2019. It’s long-sleeved with a cut-out detail on one shoulder. You can wear this over jeans or as a dress. Feel free to mix it up with various bottoms, accessories, and shoes. Available at SM Makati.

Kate Spade Year of the Pig 3D Shoulder Bag

As part of their Holiday 2018 collection, Kate Spade also released a gold pig-shaped shoulder bag. It’s made from leather, the ears and curly tail are red, and it comes with a chain strap. You can bring this accessory to formal events as it can fit essentials like your phone, keys, a powder compact, a lipstick, and a small wallet. Available at Central Square.

Dior My Lady Dior Handbag

This one is more of an everyday bag that you can bring to work. My Lady Dior is given a CNY makeover with a white canvas decorated with floral patterns. Currently not available in the Philippines.

Nike Zoom Pegasus Turbo CNY

The brand went all-out and came out with 12 limited-edition sneakers symbolizing the animals of Chinese zodiac. This one in particular has a mosaic pattern on its mesh upper and the midsole has a Bao Quan symbol, or the traditional Chinese salute. The shoes are also a combination of white, black, red, and a touch of animal prints. If your workplace doesn’t have strict dress codes, this is the comfy footwear to cop. Available at Nike stores the whole month of January.

Gucci Flying Pig Brooch

Gucci made their collection fun and nostalgic by featuring Disney’s Three Little Pigs on tops and bags. But the flying pig brooch is the subtle jewelry piece we want on our outfits. It’s made with pink resin with mother of pearl details and has a metal pin closure. Currently not available in the Philippines.

Vans & Perlicue Era Sneaker

This Year of the Pig collection features sneakers with “exaggerated ‘Off the Wall’ heel tab, wide cotton shoelaces, and the traditional Chinese greeting ‘The Fat Year’ on Vans’ iconic vulcanized waffle soles.” This pair in particular has a rose-pink body with black soles. If you’re still not over millennium pink, here’s the shoe for you. (There’s also a white and red version, JSYK.) Available at Greenbelt 3.

Starbucks 16 oz Stainless Steel Tumbler Dancing Pigs

Consider this a bonus since you can bring with you at work or while you do errands on weekends. You can put coffee in it and even use this in place of paper cups at cafés. Available at Starbucks branches.
