Get ready, Shake Shack is serving your fave local flavors—ube, calamansi, and cacao

Are you as excited as we are for Shake Shack’s opening on May 10 at BGC? I’m sure you’re looking forward to finally tasting their signature items like the ShackBurger, Shack-cago Dogs, and classic crinkle cut fries. But they have a special treat for us, which you should definitely check out too.

“As we spent time exploring the unique and eclectic landscape that is Filipino cuisine, we were inspired by the flavors and artisans we met along the way and by the food that they’re passionate about,” Shake Shack culinary director MArk Rosati said. “From halo-halo, lechon, adobo and garlic rice, to calamansi and ube in every imaginable form, Manila is serious about its love for great food and ingredients! We’re thrilled to introduce our Manila-exclusive menu that features just a few of the flavors and ingredients we fell in love with, and are humbled to become part of this vibrant community.”

Are you hyped yet? The one-of-a-kind menu items will only be available here in our country and it is understandably something to be excited about. We think you’d especially love their three unique concretes, which are frozen custard ice cream made in-Shack every day, and blended with mix-ins featuring Filipino flavors, and local bakers and artisans.

Ube lovers, consider the Uuube-by baby—a vanilla custard mixed with ube, coconut marshmallow, ube cookie, toasted coconut and crispy pinipig, and topped with leche flan—your new favorite dessert.

Shack Attack, meanwhile, is a Manila-spin on a Shack classic.  This concrete proudly features chocolate brownies from Bucky’s and 55 percent cacao chocolate from local bean-to-bar Auro chocolate, mixed with Shack fudge sauce and chocolate sprinkles. Yum!

Lastly, we have the Calamansi Pie Oh My, which is a vanilla custard mixed with calamansi pie from local favorite Wildflour Bakery. What’s even more special about it is five percent of its sales supports Children’s Hour, an organization that supports projects on education, health and nutrition, and child welfare and development for Filipino children.

Raise your hand if you’re set on trying all three of these at the opening!
