Guo Pei’s latest couture collection features piña fabric

Chinese couturier Guo Pei’s AW 2019/20 Couture collection, named “Alternate Universe,” has recently been unveiled at the Cour Vitree hall in Paris, and we are obsessed.

On their IG account, the brand particularly highlighted how the collection features pineapple hemp fabric, “a treasured material of the Philippines.”

With “Alternate Universe,” Guo Pei sought to explore the themes of life and death as more than just “religious propositions or philosophical thoughts.” The collection features meticulous embroidery depicting relevant imageries attached to myths about life and death, and complemented by distinct silhouettes.

“Through its natural ivory color and translucent delicate texture, pineapple hemp fabric provides the perfect look to the Grecian-style silhouettes of Guo Pei AW 2019/20 Couture collection,” the label wrote.

Are you in love with this collection too? Let us know in the comments section below.
