French group LVMH (who handles Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Christian Dior) is doing their part to help contain the current pandemic by making hand sanitizers in three facilities they normally use for producing perfumes and other cosmetics.
This move comes after the recent statement issued by the US FDA encouraging licensed pharmacists and physicians to produce hand sanitizers in hopes to remedy the shortage.
According to Forbes, operations have already started and the first batch was delivered yesterday. By the end of the week, it is expected that LVMH would have produced 12 tons of hydroalcoholic gel, which will be donated to the French government and the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris.
The group plans to continue production of these hand sanitizers as long as it is necessary.
