There’s free transportation for frontliners

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) is offering free shuttle service for frontliners who are still expected to report for duty despite the implemented enhanced community quarantine.

According to a tweet by Vice President Leni Robredo, routes, schedules and other details regarding the said initiative will be announced later on.

This move follows the government’s plans of addressing the COVID-19 outbreak by implementing the enhanced community quarantine immediately. Rules of the quarantine include the suspension of all public transportation, leaving all frontliners with no other transportation options.

We’re hoping LGUs take their cue from the OVP and help our brave and selfless health care workers and other frontliners get to where they need to be. Apart from being cautious and taking care of ourselves, it’s best to also consider the welfare of the people who are risking their lives to address the pandemic.
