IU’s comeback single is a collab with BTS’ Suga

Heads up, uenas: Your indie K-pop queen, IU, is going to release her first comeback single since November’s “Love Poem” on May 6. Oh, and in case you’re not hyped up enough yet, it’s going to be a collab with rapper Suga from BTS.

“As musicians of the same age, the two singers were able to relate to one another and use that as a foundation for exchanging opinions. They created their own unique synergy, which is reflected in their song,” her agency EDAM Entertainment remarked in the announcement.

The agency also noted that the new single will be a departure from her usual style of music—which makes sense, considering Suga’s involvement. “Suga and IU have completely different music styles,” noted AllKpop.

We don’t know yet if Suga was just part of the song’s production or if he’ll be featured in it. What we do know is that the music video has already been shot and that IU was hands on in the overall composition of the single.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for May 6.
