“Taylor Swift City of Lover Concert” premiered earlier today on American television channel ABC. The one-hour concert special showcased Taylor Swift’s talent in creating an emotional and heartfelt show with just eight songs, most of them stripped down to acoustic versions.
The concert special was filmed at the L’Olympia Theater in Paris last year, before the coronavirus pandemic cancelled the pop star’s remaining tours for her most recent album, “Lover.”
Aside from the performances, the concert special also featured an inside look at Taylor’s writing process that revealed she wrote the nostalgic and emotional track “Cornelia Street” in the bathtub.
Although the concert special will only be available for streaming on Disney+ and Hulu (sorry, this is bad news for PH stans), the tracks performed have already been uploaded to YouTube and Spotify. It’s for those who want to get the concert experience before the special can be streamed, but it’s also here for us international fans who don’t have access to some streaming services but still want to join in the fun.
The concert special version of the songs are perfect for late-night-i-miss-hanging-out-with-my-friends-and-SO-oustide emotions, but hey, aren’t all Taylor Swift songs created for that?
