Following the surprise drop of “Sour Candy” with Lady Gaga, BLACKPINK surprises us again with the announcement of their comeback single. YG Entertainment just posted a comeback teaser poster this morning, Jun. 10, featuring BLACKPINK’s logo in bold red letters with a blue background. Fans speculated that the color change teases a new summer concept for the group’s upcoming album.
BLACKPINK’s pre-release single is set to come out on June 26. Not long after YG’s announcement, #BLACKPINKISCOMING and #BLACKPINKCOMEBACK started trending on Twitter.
After releasing a statement on May 18 confirming that BLACKPINK’s first official album will be released in September and BLACKPINK Lisa getting scammed by her manager, fans expressed that YG should be handling their artists better. Four years is far too long for a girl group as popular as BLACKPINK to release their first full-length album especially with many mainstream pop artists wanting to collaborate with the group. Their last single as lead artists, “Kill This Love,” was released in April 2019 and, so far, their released collaborations with other artists were “Kiss and Make Up” with Dua Lipa and “Sour Candy” with Lady Gaga.
From pushing back the group’s comeback from the start of the year to September, Blinks are hoping that June 26 will be the final date and that the group’s comeback will be nothing but iconic.
