Red Velvet’s Irene and Seulgi’s next stop is a Time Magazine event

This past month, we devoured “Monster,” the first mini-album from Red Velvet’s Irene and Seulgi. Fans have been talking about how the much-awaited sub-unit gave off sapphic vibes on the music videos for their tracks “Monster” and “Naughty.” (Our bet is that they took inspiration from “Carmilla.”) A powerful vocal and dance duo, we’ve been waiting to hear about where their next stop is. Finally, we have an answer: Time Magazine’s Time 100 Talks.

On Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. KST, you can catch Irene and Seulgi perform on Time 100 Talks, a virtual live event series that convenes members of the Time 100 community and other leaders to discuss cross-disciplinary solutions to pressing global concerns.

According to Time, the upcoming episode will focus on global leadership. It will feature United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, actor and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) Goodwill Ambassador Michelle Yeoh, Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard and African Leadership Group CEO and founder Fred Swaniker. The girls are definitely in good company.

Irene and Seulgi will be the second K-pop act to make a special appearance on the series. Back in June, Monsta X performed their hits “Someone’s Someone” and “Flow” on “TIME 100 Talks: Finding Hope.” We’ll be keeping an eye out for a possible message dedicated to Reveluvs.

Register to join in the conversation and catch the duo.
