ICYMI, Ariana Grande has been dropping subtle hints and countdowns for her sixth album (no name yet, I’m dying to know, too) releasing next Friday, Oct. 30. The new 14-track album was mostly recorded during her time in quarantine as she reunited with her “Thank U, Next” team to work on it together.
And in her true giving goddess nature, Grande released the music video for her album single “Positions” today, making the wait for the release just a little easier to bear—although I’m still itching for it. It was an instant hit (didn’t expect anything else from Miss Ari), gaining almost 1.5 million views only 2 hours in.
The music video featured Grande as the United States president, switching between “Positions” or shots within the White House while giving us true boss bitch energy. One minute, she’s taking charge at a meeting in the conference room, and the next she’s looking gorgeous preparing pizza dough. (I wish I looked this good in the kitchen)
The music video also featured a diverse cast showing both queer and BIPOC rep in high positions of power. Our hearts are soaring.
The song itself gave me “feeling your oats” vibes with its contemporary R&B beat and flirty lyrics. Best believe I’ll be playing this on repeat while putting on makeup to dance in my room.
