Indietronica band Passion Pit cancels their Manila concert on Aug. 13 at the World Trade Center. Lead singer Michael Angelakos is still suffering from a case of bronchitis and pneumonia that occurred in July.
Just last night, Vybe Productions, the official promoter of the band’s Manila concert, posted on Instagram that Michael was mandated by his doctors to take the next few weeks off for rest and recuperation. This also entailed cancelling their Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, and Australia legs.
The first slew of postponements and cancellations were made on July 22 through Passion Pit’s Facebook page. The Maine and Massachusetts concerts were rescheduled from July 22 and 23 to September. The apologetic Michael then asked for everyone’s understanding saying, “We will be doing our best to make these up as quickly as possible. I love you all, we love you all.”

The Manila concert was much-anticipated and hyped increased when the group announced on June 13th that indie band Stars would be joining them onstage at their concert here. A month after, however, Stars posted on their official Twitter account that they wouldn’t be “playing this show,” denying the very fact that there was any commitment to perform. No further details were provided after the statement.
Refunds on the tickets will be available next Monday, Aug. 10 at all Ticketworld outlets.
