Taylor Swift breaks a Billboard record with ‘Willow’ and ‘Evermore,’ and we couldn’t be prouder

While others have been blasting Christmas carols this past week, Swifties have been on an “Evermore” lockdown that has launched it at the top of the charts.

Yes, it’s official. This week, Taylor Swift’s “Willow” debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, while “Evermore” does the same on the Billboard 200. Our queen has done the impossible yet again.

According to Billboard, “Thanks to ‘Willow’ and ‘Evermore,’ Swift becomes the first artist to have debuted a song and album at No. 1 on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 in the same week twice. She became the first act to achieve the feat at all, thanks to the No. 1 arrivals of ‘Cardigan’ and ‘Folklore’ [back in August].”

“Willow” isn’t the only track from the album that’s on Billboard Hot 100. All 15 songs from the standard edition of “Evermore” have entered the chart, giving the singer-songwriter the fourth-most Hot 100 entries all-time.

“Evermore” is Swift’s eighth album to secure the top spot on the Billboard 200 and we’re expecting it won’t be her last. She’s nipping at the heels of Barbra Streisand who holds an all-time record among women artists, with 11 leaders.

Apart from this, Swift has also been dominating Billboard’s Alternative Albums chart and its Hot Rock and Alternative Songs chart.

It’s an early Christmas gift for Swifties and they’re trending the hashtag #ProudofTaylor to congratulate the record-breaking artist.

“Guys. Seriously. Thank you for doing this,” said Swift in a tweet.

Let’s have ourselves an “Evermore” holiday.
