Sining LABinsiyam of DLS-CSB’s Theater Arts Program will be staging Dr. Layeta Bucoy’s ‘Orgullo Compound’ in a Hybrid Set-up

After successfully producing their first two online plays, “Ang Red Dress Ni Makisig” and “Bago Dumilim Sa Labas,” Sining LABinsiyam (SiLAB) will be releasing their first hybrid production with “Orgullo Compound,” written by Dr. Layeta Bucoy and directed by Jenny Logico-Cruz. A production house under the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Theater Arts program, SiLAB was started in May 2021 by student-artists from the batch 119 practicing theater production.

The play revolves around the story of Teofie Orgullo, a professor with a lot on his plate. Facing problems concerning his apartment compound, tenure, and intimate relationships, Teofie’s inner battle unfolds, with his idealism leading to self-deterioration, as well as the implosion of his intimate relationships and environment.

Through this show, Sining LABinsiyam aims to deliver how one’s environment reflects and influences themselves and their life choices. While incorporating polymer chemistry with relationships, this show will present
how one’s lack of humility spoils relationships and surroundings.

“Orgullo Compound” will be showing on July 29 to August 12, 2022 from 12 AM to 11:59 PM PST. Tickets are at 250 PHP, available at Ticket2Me.net.
