‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: Werq The World’ will have a Manila stop

Racers, start your engines and ready your wallets: The “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Werq The World” tour is coming to Manila.

According to Voss Events, which manages the tour, the stage show will be coming to the Philippines this Sept. 3 at the World Trade Center, with ticket pre-sales starting on Mar. 9 and public sales on Mar. 10.

The poster for the tour features “Drag Race” alums Aquaria, Kim Chi, Bosco, Jaida Essence Hall, Naomi Smalls, Laganja Estranja, Jorgeous, Plastique Tiara, Rosé, Yvie Oddly, DeJa Sky, Asia O’hara, Kandy Muse, Lady Camden, Miss Vanjie, Daya Betty, Ginger Minj, and Angeria. It also states that the lineups vary by city, but it’s safe to say we can expect a mix of the queens shown plus a few of the season 15 girls.

The last time the tour had a stop in Manila was in February 2020 (remember the pre-pandemic days?) for its 14th leg.

Though we’re very excited to see the queens this September, we’d be remiss not to point out that Voss Events has had some shady alleged behavior.

Last year, Australian queen Etcetera Etcetera left the “Drag Race Down Under” tour, claiming that the company ignored her concerns that another queen who “performed racist acts for years” was joining it. “At this point, it’s less about the individual, and more about a multimillion dollar company continuing to put queer communities in [harm’s] way and refusing to make the right decisions to create safe spaces for the community,” she wrote.
