This New Selena Gomez Music Video Silences Her Body Shamers

It’s been a rough past two years for Selena Gomez. She celebrates her “recovery” from that rough ride—body shamersthe Bieber, etc.—by doing what she does best: making music. She drops her first sexy music video for “Same Old Love,” the first single from her most recent studio album Revival. And seeing her in looking sexier than ever, this becomes her answer to all shamers out there.

In the video, Selena’s at the back of a limousine on her way to a performance when she steps out to take a walk first. Clad in her sexy little black dress with a plunging yet flattering neckline, Selena makes sure this video is true to her “revived” self. She first steps into the scene cloaked in a cardigan and then reveals the dress while looking confident more confident than ever.

When an almost-bare Selena released her album cover recently she addressed those targeting her weight, “I dealt with a lot of body shaming this year and I’ve never experienced that before.” “I don’t care about that stuff, but I did start gaining weight, and I didn’t really mind it, she tells E! Online.”

Also fronting Elle USA’s October issue, the 23-year-old singer gives the magazine an all-encompassing answer about loving herself, “I wanted to be my own person. I wanted to test myself. I wanted to see if I could really do it.”

As her album is also slated for release this October, “The music is going to take over because that’s how confident I am about it,” Selena says. Her final word to all those bringing her down: “I’m not going to let them get to me. I can do what I want.”
