‘X Factor’ UK Judge Simon Cowell Calls Filipino Girl Group “Amazing”

Fresh from the news of how Filipino Amy Vachal wowed the judges at The Voice, a set of Filipino sisters impressed the judges and audience at another reality show, this time across the Atlantic.

The Cercado sisters, also known as 4th Power, started their performance for the latest episode of The X Factor, by striking a pose and hitting the high notes of Christina Aguilera’s “Show Me How You Burlesque.” Soon enough, they got a standing ovation from the hard-to-please judge and producer, Simon Cowell. The group seemingly blew the competition out of the water with their rendition of the pop hit.

Rita Ora, who also serves as a judge in the reality show, described 4th Power’s performance as “absolute perfection.”

“I think you are phenomenal. You know what, you and I can create magic together,” said their mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, giving them a spot in the Six-Chair Challenge, which is one of the toughest rounds in the competition.

4th Power’s audition for the show, a rendition of Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang,” has hit 18 million views as of press time.

It looks like Filipino talent taking the international stage is on the rise yet again. And just like the rest of the world, we can’t wait to see what is up next.
