Lesson of the day: Don’t trust gossip blogs when they say your favorite couple broke up over spa-cific “happy endings.” Especially when these involve Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris.
Social media and shippers alike almost went crazy after news broke out that the “Wildest Dreams” singer called it quits after finding out about her boyfriend’s recent spa trip. Radar Online broke the news, claiming “that the singer dumped her DJ boyfriend of roughly six months, Calvin Harris, after he was caught leaving a Thai massage parlor.” He allegedly availed of a “happy ending” or a hand job on top of the massages he needed.
“[Calvin] lied to [Taylor]. He gave some bullshit excuse that his masseuse was sick and he needed his shoulder worked on,” the magazine source reportedly said.
Media outlets soon followed the headline. From the speculating Complex to the ever-so-cynical Slate.com, just about everyone was all over the unexpected split. It took one, brief tweet from half of the couple to set the record straight.
Despite Taylor’s surprising silence, a source close to the couple reveals to People that the speculations are “absolutely not true” and that “they are happy and going strong.”
Suck on that, gossipers.
