Stage Mother Susan Roces Tells Daughter to Stand Up for Herself

Just like any mother, Susan promptly visited her daughter Grace Poe to give some words of support and encouragement, as the latter was recently disqualified from the 2016 Presidential campaign. “Bilang nanay, gusto lang naman niya na bigyan ako ng kaunting suporta sa mga panahong ganito. (As a mother, she only wants to give her child a little support in times like these),” explained Grace in an interview.

Like a child being bullied in the playground, Grace shared what her mother says about these bullies and how she was taught better by her parents.

Tinuruan ako ng nanay ko na maging matapang din kaya ang pagpunta niya rito ay para makiisa at para mapaalala rin sa akin na talagang ang mga pinagdaanan noon ng tatay ko, na hindi na ito bago. (My mother taught me to be brave and her visit reminded me of how she’s fully in support of my fight and that my father also experienced the same thing),” continued Grace, also referring to the struggles her father the late Fernando Poe Jr. faced when he was running for the presidency.

With this, Grace is now ready to stand up for herself as she hopes that the Supreme Court will turn around the decision of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and reinstate Grace’s candidacy.

You go, Grace. Make yo momma proud!
