Given the number of options when it comes to working out, we sometimes get overwhelmed. We all have questions in our heads. Should we do workouts at home? Try CrossFit? Stick with spinning? Or perhaps, practice yoga? And to top it off, you think and ponder of which fitness routine benefits you the most.
Just last week, Urban Ashram threw an invigorating gathering in Ayala Triangle called Urban Yoga—where yoga practitioners all over the metro gather to practice in the middle of the city and more importantly, as a community. There were classes taught by the Urban Ashram teachers and there was one led by Joan Hyman who’s known to travel all over the world and hold workshops to better your journey with yoga.
We found this as a chance to revitalize ourselves and escape the city, and at the same time to finally ask a number of urban yogis why they practice yoga. Was it for the benefit of their physical bodies? Mental? Or even emotional?
